On July 13, 2020, Brother Roberson ended his Christian journey peacefully from this life to claim his crown with his heavenly father. After being on this earth for 82 years with family by his side.
Bob Roberson, Jr. a native of Rockdale, Texas was born on October 15, 1937 to the late Bob Roberson, Sr. and Nettie Patterson Roberson. He was one of 8 children born to this union. He loved the Lord, and he loved Christian fellowship. He accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and personal Savior of his life and was baptized at an early age.
Brother Roberson graduated from Rockdale High School in Rockdale, Texas and was a member of the football and basketball team. After graduating he decided to serve his country from August 2, 1956 - August 1, 1960 as a member of the United States Air Force. Upon returning from the Air Force he resided in Tucson, Arizona and was Blessed with four beautiful children from his previous marriage. He was employed at the United States Postal Service for over 3 decades and became the First African American Postal Superintendent in the state of Arizona where he retired in 1996.
Brother Roberson was a member of Grace Temple Church (Arizona) for many years and served diligently on the usher board. After retiring, he relocated to Houston, Texas in 1998 and joined Galilee Missionary Baptist church in 2000. He served the Lord for many years with gladness in humility, spirit, and in truth. Bob was a member of the "UNG” (Usher Nurses Greeters Ministry) where he served as Assistant Instructor, Matron Assistant, as well as being part of the Social Committee until his health began to decline. Bob loved his church Galilee Missionary Baptist Church for 20 years until he was called to his eternal home.
Brother Bob had the joy of the Lord deep down in his soul. The joy and the love of his life was his loving wife, Audrey (Ollis) Roberson of many years. The most important and enjoyable things in his life were his children, attending church, reading his bible, and watching sports with his sons. Those who knew him can attest that his heart was sports- a devoted football and basketball #1 fan.

Left to cherish his legacy in life’s book of memories are Bob’s loving and devoted wife Audrey O. Roberson, three sons- Jeffery Roberson of Phoenix, Arizona, Jerry Roberson, Kevin Roberson, a daughter Kathy Roberson Graham all of Houston, Texas; 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; four step children- one son Terry Boston, three daughters Tara Boston, Deidre Boston and Sherryl (Cornelius) Anthony; 12 step grandchildren, 13 step great-grandchildren; a devoted best friend since high school Dorris Lee Alcorn, a devoted nephew Otis Mack and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, neighbors, and his church family Galilee Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents Bob Roberson, Sr. and Nettie Patterson Roberson, two brothers- James Thomason, Lussine Roberson, and five sisters- Lillie Mae McGee, Syble Enge, Bertha Jackson, Bobbie Davis, and Nettie B Patterson.
He is resting in peace on his constant faith in the redemptive love of the Lord Jesus Christ.
