Billy Ray Howard, 72, entered into the Gates of Heaven on August 3, 2020. He was born on October 2, 1947, in Glenmora, Louisiana, and resided in Houston, TX for the past 68 years. Billy proudly served four years in the United States Navy, sailing onboard the destroyer USS Dahlgren (DLG-12), including one year in Vietnam. In 1970, he ended his service in the Naval Reserve. Billy went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Houston.
Billy worked as a computer programmer for over 40 years, retiring from Dynamic Marketing in 2011. In 2019, he returned to programming, as a contractor, for the Internal Revenue Service.
Billy enjoyed operating R/C planes and pursued this hobby as a member of the Houston Sport Flyers; serving as their treasurer for many years.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents John Lois & Crecie Howard and sister Shirley Rose (Howard) Litchford.
To cherish his memory, he is survived by his wife of 34 years, Rose Howard; sons Billy R. Howard Jr., John Lee Howard, David Christopher Howard (wife, Natasha); daughters Lisa Erin Howard, Theresa Villarreal, Monica Ramirez (husband, Tony); numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of extended family, friends and neighbors.
