Billie Joan Kettler “Tutts” Westfall was promoted to be face to face with her precious Lord, Jesus Christ, on 8 July 2021, while being treated for infection and congestive heart failure at Methodist Hospital, Houston, Texas. Born in Houston on 25 November 1935, she was a sixth generation Texan and descendant of the owner of a Spanish Land Grant. A graduate of Rice Institute, she was a gifted schoolteacher for 40 years. 20 years at HISD and 20 years at St.Thomas Episcopal School as the first grade girls teacher. Her effective teaching skills resulted in many young girls being brought to salvation as well as learning the basics of Reading, Writing, Arithmetic, Penmanship, Bible Stories, American History and manners.
Tutts had a flair for decorating in the 18thCentury style. While not in the business, she often advised friends on the proper way to decorate their homes. It was her hand that decorated and furnished West Houston Bible Church to make it a beautiful, welcoming facility for teaching the infallible Word of God.
She is predeceased by her mother and father, Fred and Dorsey Kettler. Tutts is survived by her husband, Alan Westfall Sr., son Alan Westfall Jr and his wife Sajiah, grandchildren Kettler and Lauren and Sajiah’s daughter, Jacqueline.
