Beverley received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of the Incarnate Word and her Master’s Degree from Sam Houston State University. She met L. D. Rankin in San Antonio, Texas and married in June of 1961. Beverley worked as a teacher for most of her life, and after retirement, she volunteered to work with children who were struggling to read. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Humble, the United Methodist Women, and the Order of the Eastern Star. She donated to numerous charitable organizations.
Beverley was preceded in death by her husband, L. D. Rankin, and her parents, Charles Stovall Hunt and Dorothy Mae Smith Hunt.
She is survived by her daughters, Lisa (and Charles) McRae and Diana (and David) Armitage, her grandchildren, Charles (and Kelly) McRae III, David Collicott, and Angela (and Eric) Latimer; as well as extended family including, Heather (and Parmesh) Krishen and Kathleen (and Kyle) Kent.
Donations can be made in Beverley’s honor to the Dementia Society of America and the Alzheimer’s Association.
