Betty Jo Kindred, age 92, of Humble, Texas passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2024. She was born on November 9, 1931, went to be with her Lord & Savior October 10, 2024. She was born in Tonkawa, Oklahoma to parents Samuel Billups and Helen Johnson Billups.
Betty attended Galena Park High School where she met her husband Bill Kindred. After Bill completed his service in the Merchant Marines, Bill and Betty married on July 21, 1948. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who always knew family came first. During her long life she remained the heartbeat of their family. Betty Jo began her grand mothering journey earlier than many, spanning five generations of a vibrant family that brought countless years of joy.
With family nearby and visiting frequently, her back door was often unlocked as she intuitively anticipated their needs, truly embodying the role of a devoted caregiver. Having been married to a driven entrepreneur for sixty years, Betty supported her loving husband Bill in all his business pursuits.
Betty Jo Kindred was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Kindred Jr. and daughter, Diane Marie Saffell.
She leaves behind her two children: Gloria Jean Kindred and William Curtis Kindred & wife Pam, seven grandchildren: Apryl Eddy, Curtis Kindred Jr. and wife Staci, Audra Deaver & husband James, Chad Kitchens and wife Heather, Jason Kindred, Jim Kitchens and wife Angela, Stephanie Ceballos and husband Juan. The fourth and fifth generation includes: nineteen great grandchildren, and 14 great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from from 1pm-2pm on Friday October 18, 2024. Funeral services will be at 2pm at Brookside Funeral Home 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
