It is with a heavy heart that the family of Bettie Jean Watt wishes to announce that she gone to be with our Lord and Savior on August 19, 2021 at the age of 93. The Lord peacefully called her home during the night while staying with her son James W. LaCoste and his wife Tonya J. LaCoste.
Like many of us, Bettie had her ups and downs throughout her life but she always kept her Christian upbringing close to her heart which made it possible for her to look at every day as a blessing. Bettie grew up in Natchitoches, LA and later in life moved to Texas at which time she was blessed with two sons, Robert I. LaCoste, Jr. and James W. LaCoste. Bettie was a loving, devoted, and steadfast mother to her boys and was later married to her loving husband Andrew “Andy” Watt of over 40 years, all the while putting in 20+ years with the City of Houston as an Administrative Clerk. During her career, she received various certifications and awards from the City of Houston which helped propel her career and notoriety across various departments. If you were to speak with any of her friends, they would say that Bettie was very kind, outgoing, was always wearing a smile, and tried to help where she could. As for her family, Bettie was the matriarch and was blessed to have seen four additional generations come after her to which her love knew no bounds for her boys, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She was a great mother, wife, grandmother, and friend to many. We are all honored and blessed to have known her and the time we had with her on this earth.
