Barbara Jean Roy

She attended Wheatley High School in Houston, Texas and graduated.

She worked at Cactus Pipe Company. She went on to work at Holiday Inn for a short time. Then she was hired at Sterling Texas Construction Company as a flagger for 7 years. She retired from Aldine working in the cafeteria.

Throughout the years she had one son Patrick Henderson and she later became a grandmother to Patrick Simon. Years later she became a great-grandmother to two great- granddaughters.

Barbara Roy met Tommy Roy, her common-law husband of 25 years. She decided to give her life to Christ. She joined Greater Mount Zion Church under the leadership of Rev. Richard Henry.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents Clifton and Ideller Henderson. Her only son Patrick Henderson. Four brothers Wilbert Henderson, Clifton Henderson Jr., Ralph Henderson, Willard Henderson, and one sister Doris Henry.

She leaves to mourn common-law husband Tommy Roy, One sister Dorothy Augustine, one grandson Patrick Simon, two great granddaughters, one close best friend Carol Johnson, and a very good neighbor Susie and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

A visitation for Barbara will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Greater Mt Zion Baptist Church, 3108 Lebadie St, Houston, Texas 77026. A home going service will occur Saturday, August 10, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 3108 Lebadie St, Houston, Texas 77026. A committal service will occur Monday, August 12, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Brookside Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Fwy, Houston, Texas 77039.
