Barbara Jennings Rains, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt was called to her eternal home with Jesus on October 27, 2024. She was born on June 3rd, 1946 in Roanoke, Virginia to Marguerite Harper Jennings and John Benjamin Jennings.

She became acquainted with Clifford Clayton Rains through a mutual friend who arranged for them to meet at a Sunday evening service at Melrose Baptist Church. Following their courtship they were married on the 10th of March 1967. Barbara continued her career until she and Clifford began their family. After many years of dutiful service she retired from General Accident in the early 2000’s.
Barbara had a prodigious love for creating crafts and projects. Over the years she fashioned many beautiful ceramics and cross-stitched a number of pieces for her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She loved lighthouses and collected many that were displayed throughout her home even going on a lighthouse cruise with Clifford! Barbara also took great pride in decorating her home for different holidays to the delight of her family and friends.
