Barbara Jean Jones

Barbara Roach Jones; born September 2, 1933 in Morristown, TN, went to be with our Lord on July 8, 2012 after bravely battling a long illness. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Bob and brother, Donald Roach. She is survived by her sons Richard and Douglas Jones and their wives Nancy and Gaye; grandchildren Ashley, Max, and Shelby; and great grandchildren Ella and Jackson.

She was the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Donald W. Roach. As a child, Barbara loved to read, play the piano and ping pong. After graduating high school she attended Ward Belmont College in Nashville, TN where she became a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority. She later married the late Bobby Keith Jones in 1953. They moved to Houston shortly thereafter where they soon started their family. Barbara was a proud member of the Daughters of the Mayflower.

She loved her family and was active in supporting her sons in their activities. She was excited to watch her family grow and cherished time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. As her illness progressed, Barbara looked forward to the time when she would be able to join her husband, brother, and parents with our Lord. Her dream has been realized. Rest in Peace, Barbara, and rejoice in your graduation to a better place.
