Barbara Lynn Jones was born in Houston on September 8, 1951, and passed away at 72 years of age on October 4, 2023. She is preceded in death by her parents, Quincy and Earl Jones, and her younger brother, Earl.
Barbara was devoted to her parents and cherished having been able to travel with them throughout the country. A native Houstonian, Barbara caught rodeo fever at an early age and, before too long, she owned her own horse. Barbara attended as many rodeos as she could, including Elvis’ only Houston concert.
A long-time resident of Dallas, Barbara returned to Houston to assist her Mom when her Dad became terminally ill. In recent years, Barbara was a resident of Eagle’s Trace where she enjoyed making many friends and entertaining her godson, his wife, and doting on their two sons throughout the year.
Barbara leaves behind family members and friends throughout the State, especially her cousins Max Dreyling, Maren Dreyling, Kristine and Rene Salazar and children, Scott and Gina Dreyling and children, Reid and Sheryl McNally and Erin and Cory Brown. Barbara was full of love for her friends, family, and especially for her godson Colin Wigington and his wife Grace as well as her life-long friends Meador Wigington, Sarah Majors and Kay Baker, her devoted caregiver, Noemi Menendez, and her supporters and hairdressers, Virginia Vu and Shelley Ann Lim. Barbara’s family and friends wish to express our gratitude to the caring staff of Memorial Hermann Hospital and Houston Hospice
A service for Barbara will be held at 2 PM on Thursday the 12th of October at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home located at 13001 Katy Freeway (Southeast Corner of the intersection of I-10 and Eldridge) and internment will follow the service.
