On November 14, 1989, in Houston, Texas, the Lord blessed Charisse M. Oubre and Oliver J. Foster with a beautiful baby girl, Ashley Nicole Foster. Ashley was an only child born to Charisse and Oliver. She received her crown on Sunday, March 07, 2021.
Ashley was educated in the public school system of Galena Park ISD in Houston, Texas, where she graduated with the North Shore Senior High class of 2008. After graduating high school Ashley attended the University of Phoenix where she received her Associate of Arts in Early Childhood Education. She then went on to receive her Bachelor of Science in Education from Ashford University. Ashley started working for the Rhodes School in 2014, where she began her teaching career. She then went on to work for Arrow Academy.
Ashley loved God and became a member of Fellowship of Purpose Church under the leadership of Pastor Byron Murray in Houston, Texas. She was a beloved daughter, a loving sister and a favorite niece, a special cousin, and an excellent friend. She will always be remembered for her vivacious spirit, beautiful smile, and infectious laugh that drew others to laugh with her. She loved life and was the life of the party. She enjoyed orchestrating get-togethers for family and friends while engaging in mind-stimulating conversations and cooking for them.
She leaves to celebrate her life and mourn her passing, her parents, Charisse Oubre and Oliver J. Foster of Houston, Texas; Bonus Mom: Marjai Francis, Bonus Grandmother Brenda Francis of Houston, Texas; Siblings: Keisha Foster, Ayanna Foster, Latoya Johnson, Dena Oubre, Rakeishla Mims, Darrel Bradford, Dustin Oubre, and Chaston Johnson all of Houston, Texas; Shelby Dickerson of Plaquemine, LA; Bonus Siblings: Brenetta, Florastina, Monique, Catria and Heaven, all of Houston Texas; Aunts: Geraldine (Alfred) Jefferson, Concetta Oubre, Trisha (Bron) Smith all of Houston, Texas, Danyelle Roscoe, Troy L. Dickerson, Hendrika Hines, Jessica (Richard) Harris all of Plaquemine LA; Uncles: Pastor Hurice (Charlotte) Oubre, Bertell Landry, Oscar (Barbara) Jackson, and Jerrold (Narkita) Roscoe all of Plaquemine LA; godfather: Raymond (Leah) Radford Jr.; Godmother: Marsha Dale Kelley; god sister: Dasyha Washington, godchild: Darius Hargrove, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and close friends. Special Friends: Celina, Josette, Jaleesa, and Lil Ashley.
Ashley was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Hurice Oubre Sr. and Lucille Harris, and Paternal grandparents, Herman H. and Eva Foster, her great uncle Perry (Leola) Walker, her uncle Monroe J. Landry, aunts Randell Dickerson and Dawn Handy, her cousins Cortney and Quinesha Dickerson.
Ashley will be missed by all who loved her, but we find peace in knowing that she is resting in the arms of the Lord.
A visitation for Ashley will be held Saturday, March 20, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral service will occur Saturday, March 20, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A burial will occur Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 1:00 PM. A committal service will occur Saturday, March 20, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
