Antonette Elizabeth Leggington Robinson, a devoted wife, cherished mother, faithful sister and an amazing aunt. Toni peacefully departed this life on Thursday, June 13th, 2019 with her loving husband by her side. Born June 10, 1955 to Anthony and Beulah Leggington in the Third Ward, Houston Texas. She retired from the City of Houston, Public Works Department as the Special Events Coordinator after 22 years of service.
She is preceded in death by her parents Anthony James Leggington, Sr., Beulah Minnie Leggington and brother Charles Leggington. Toni was survived by her devoted husband of 40 years, Wilbur Robinson Jr. (Roby) and children: Lomorris Forniss Jr. (Jackie), Ashley Robinson McCain (Chris), DeAnn Robinson, Vaccaro Robinson Greaves (Frank), Roblyn J. Robinson (Jamilah). She also leaves behind four granddaughters: Kiana Frye, Trinity Greaves, Courtney Deyo, Brianna McCain, five grandsons: Gyasi Frye, Dante Greaves, Cameron Robinson, Tyler Moore and Christopher McCain Jr. One great-granddaughter: Rylee Mae. Two brothers, Anthony Leggington, Jr. (Rita), Michael Leggington and one sister Deborah Carpenter (Malo). Special cousin Barbara Broady (Eugene). Nieces: Roxanne Leggington, Yoshi Leggington, Leah Leggington, Lesley Leggington, Michelle Robinson Mc Cardell, Gabrielle Robinson Whitfield, Janna Robinson, Faren Merkerson. Nephews: Derek Mc Neil, James Craighead, Paul Leggington, Roame Robinson, William Little, Jr., Zephry Merkerson, Christopher Merkerson. Sisters in Laws: Suzanne Robinson Little and Sharon Curtis Merkerson.
Toni’s memories will also be cherished by a host of great nieces and nephews, special cousins and co-workers. Her two dearest longtime friends, whom she adored, Deiedre Wright and Terri Williams to name a few.
Toni loved smooth jazz, her BMW’s and was an avid sports fan! Nothing was nearer and dearer to her than the Dallas Cowboys! You could best believe if her Cowboys were on, she was watching. She also had a love of Beamers and she owned her fair share of them over the years. She and Roby were truly soulmates who shared a special bond and built a wonderful life together taking many road-trips and going on cruises over the years. Her dream vacation was to go to Hawaii and they planned to do so in 2020.
Toni will forever be remembered for her amazing spirit and character. She was gracious and her kindness shined through in every way. She was strong, authentic and down to earth. She was a remarkably caring woman with a huge heart and always seemed to know exactly what to say when you needed her most. If you asked for her opinion, she would always give you an honest and thoughtful response despite what you may have wanted to hear. One thing for sure, Toni has truly left her imprint on our hearts and her everlasting spirit will live on in us forever. No words could ever express what she meant to us and how greatly she will be missed.
