Annette Chow of Houston, peacefully left us on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at the age of 100. Born in San Francisco on May 26, 1924, she grew up in Chicago along with her eight siblings and lived a rich and fulfilling life. In 1945, Annette met James Chow in Chicago, and were married in 1946, embarking on a lifelong journey together that spanned over six decades. In 1954, Annette and James moved to Shaw, Mississippi, where they opened a small grocery store. Their dedication to their business and the community was evident as they worked to build a successful and thriving store. In 1959, they relocated to Houston, Texas, where they went on to own and operate two additional grocery stores. James and Annette retired in 1983, after many years of hard work, and enjoyed a well-deserved rest from their business endeavors. Their 67-year marriage was a true partnership, founded on love, respect, and shared goals.
Beyond her business achievements, Annette had a passion for knitting, crocheting, needlepointing, and reading. Her hands were as skilled in crafting as they were in nurturing her family. She was also a lifelong fan of soap operas, and could often be found tuning in to her favorite shows, enjoying the storylines that brought so much entertainment to her daily life.
