Andrew Theodore Vecsey

He was born on March 24, 1958 in Houston Texas to Theresa and Theodore Vecsey.

Andy leaves behind his brother-in-law Ron Wright and wife Linda, sister-in-law Gayle Wright and sister-in-law Tina Wright, several of Janet’s nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and even great, great nieces and nephews. And several very close personal friends and their families. He was preceded in death by his father, Theodore Vecsey and his first two dogs Lola and Maddie.

Andy graduated Spring Branch High School and went on to receive a Bachelor Science Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Houston in 1981. He was a member of Pi Tau Sigma Honor Society, American Society of Mechanical Engineers and Society of Petroleum Engineers.

Andy worked for Shell Oil Company from 1981 to 1996.Wood Group/Mustang Engineering from 1996 to 2010. Jacobs Engineering from 2010 to 2012. He then worked for Universal Pegasus, Gulf Interstate Engineering, H & H Energy Services, Windy Cove Energy, CAM Integrated Services and finally for Arion.

He married Janet Kaye Wright on February 14, 1995. They renewed their wedding vows on May 15, 2010 and have been married for 28 years.

Andy had a passion for golf, fast, exotic cars, auto racing, specifically Formula 1, and his dogs, Lexi and Maisie.

Andy was a very curious sole that was always learning and questioning “why”. He was a character and had a quirky sense of humor. You either “got him” or you didn’t.

Andy and Janet never had children but he was surrounded by members of Janet’s family and the families of friends.

Funeral arrangements will be held at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, 13102 North Freeway, Houston Texas 77060. Visitation will be from 12 to 1:00 p.m. The service will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The burial with be at 2:00 p.m. A reception will follow at the funeral home.
