Ana J. Marrero passed away at Ben Taub Hospital on February 3, 2015 in Houston, Texas at the age of 80. Ms. Marrero was born on May 12, 1934 in Ranchuelo, Cuba to her parents Mr. Rafael Hernandez and Mrs. Amparo Ramirez. She married Joaquin R. Marrero in 1955.
Ms. Marrero worked as an assistant teacher at St. Martin Pre-School Lutheran Church and retired in 2000. She dedicated her remaining time to educating and caring for her grandchildren, as well as leading prayer circles at her local church.
Ms. Marrero was a beloved wife, mother, and devoted Christian. She served as the deacon at her local church. She inspired many lives and will be missed.
Ms. Marrero is survived by her daughter Iris Martinez who resides in Houston, Texas, Her two sons Dennis Marrero of Georgetown, Texas and Roy Marrero of Kapolei, Hawaii and her 7 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
There will be a visitation on Friday, February 13, 2015 at 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home and a Memorial Service on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 9 a.m. at Monte Hermon Christian Church. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ms. Marrero’s life.
