Amelia Medina Castillo born May 10, 1933 in Gregory, Texas, passed away September 3, 2011 in Houston, Texas. She was the 3rd child born of a family of 6. Her parents were Merejildo Medina and Vicenta Medina. She married Faustino P. Castillo on July 8, 1949, after just courting for three weeks in Houston, Texas. The Lord blessed them with eight children, 35 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren and granted them 61 years together. "Grandma" as she was lovingly known, sacrificed her entire life for the wellbeing of the family. She is preceded in death by: parents, Merejildo Medina & Vicenta Mireles; husband, Faustino P. Castillo; brothers, Dan & Robert Medina and great grandchildren, Ariel Alyssa Castillo & Eric Ontiveros.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 6th from 3:00PM until 9:00PM with a Evening Service at 7:00PM at North Central Baptist Church, 2102 Tidwell Rd., Houston, TX 77093. Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:30PM, Wednesday, September 7th at Brookside Funeral Home with interment to follow in Brookside Memorial Park.
