Alfred A. Kubiak, 78, born October 30, 1931 in Houston, TX, to Alexander and Frances Lucas Kubiak, passed away peacefully July 13, 2010 following a long courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was an honorary member of Knights of Columbus 2917. After over 42 years of service, he retired from Carpenters Local Union 551. He is preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother, Leon. Alfred will forever be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, dad, and grandpa. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Willie Mae; 4 children, Brenda Kubiak Gorski & husband, Mike, Gary Kubiak & wife, Rhonda, Susan Kubiak Pierce & husband, David, Kim Kubiak Kullberg & husband, Mike; 8 grandchildren, Kevin Gorski & wife, Kristen, Lyndsey Gorski Miller & husband, Philip, Klint Kubiak & wife, Tessa, Klay Kubiak, Chelsea Pierce, Klein Kubiak, Shea Pierce & Corbin Kullberg; sister, Gertrude Ansley. The family would especially like to thank Ruby, Mary and the staff members at Methodist Hospital, Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital, and The Forum. Alfred’s six grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 15, 2010 in the chapel of Heights Funeral Home beginning at 4:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Knights of Columbus rosary will immediately follow. A funeral mass will be held Friday, July 16, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 4918 Cochran St., Houston, TX 77009. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Parkinson Foundation of Harris County, 7457 Harwin, Suite 308, Houston, TX 77036-2025.
