Alex Castillo

Born September 24, 1961, Alex had been a proud Houstonian the entirety of his life. Alex is preceded in death by his parents Alex and Rebecca Castillo and nephew Erik Castillo. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years Jacqueline Couto Castillo and his sons John and Ian Castillo. He is also survived by his sisters Leah Castillo, Angela Pena (Robert), Eida Calvo (Carlos), his brother Marcus Castillo (Michelle), as well as Father in Law Francisco Couto, Sisters in Law Zoraida Couto, Caroline Couto (Miguel), Mirella Couto (Luis), Elsa Couto (Humberto), Rosa Couto (Nelson), brother in law Francisco J. Couto, and countless friends and extended family. All will miss him very much.

Alex’s passion for sports was evident throughout his life. He will be remembered for his roles in cross country, football, swimming, and skateboarding. His greatest love, however, was for baseball, which he graciously shared with his sons, family and close friends. Alex was a very dedicated civil servant. He worked on air conditioning and refrigeration for over 30 years, becoming a master and was dedicated to his work to provide for his family. Alex’s generosity was endless, and he was constantly volunteering to help those around him simply out of the kindness of his heart. Alex was very loving, caring, humble, and loyal to his wife, children, family, friends and all those he met who will miss him and cherish those moments.

Visitation for immediate family and invited guests will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm with a Rosary Service beginning at 7:00 pm at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX. For those unable to attend in person, please feel free to join us via livestream beginning at 7:00 pm. Livestream link found here under Services.

All are invited to the Funeral Service which will be held on Friday, September 11, 2020 with a viewing at 11:00 am and Mass beginning at 12:00 pm at St. Ambrose Church, 4213 Mangum Rd, Houston, TX. Graveside Service and livestream will begin at 2:00 pm at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX.

Masks and social distancing will be required at the funeral home and church.
