On September 9, 2018, God the Father called home Alex Barrow, Jr., 88 years old to be reunited with his loving wife Barbara and the family and friends that have gone before him into the Kingdom of Heaven.
Alex was a faithful Orthodox Christian and one of the Founding Fathers of Saint Anthony the Great Orthodox Christian Church in Spring, Texas. His love of cars and being one of the first franchise owners of Shipley Donuts (aka The Donut King) will never be forgotten. Alex departed this earth as a Master Mason.
Alex is survived by his four children, Keith and wife Martha, Michele, Susan and husband Paul, Kevin and wife MaryAnn. He is survived by 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Alex will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
There will be a visitation Thursday, September 13 from 5pm – 7pm at Brookside Funeral Home, 3410 Cypress Creek Pkwy., Houston. Funeral service will be held September 14 at St. Anthony the Great, 7202 FM 2920 in Spring at 11am with internment at Earthman’s Rest Haven Cemetery, 13102 North Fwy., Houston at 12:30pm.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Anthony the Great to go to the Beautification Fund in memory of Alex Barrow, Jr.
