Adela M. Elizondo de Sanchez

Adela M. Elizondo Sanchez passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving daughter, granddaughter, and husband on Monday, March 14, 2011. She was born June 2, 1925 in Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Dr. Lazaro Elizondo and Manuela Salazar Elizondo. Mrs. Sanchez is preceded in death by her parents, siblings: Jose, Remijio, Simon, Herlinda, & Samuel Elizondo, and by her only precious grandson Michael Jesse Reyes. She is survived by husband of 58 years, Arturo Sanchez, only daughter, M. Connie Reyes, only granddaughter, Jessica M. Reyes Liske, husband Michael, brother Saul Elizondo and, sister Zoila Elizondo Reyes along with numerous nieces and nephews. Adela loved shopping and spending time with her daughter and granddaughter. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church since arriving from Mexico in the late 1950’s. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Odyssey Hospice nursing team, Joan and Tia for their exceptional care. A special acknowledgement to the nurses Liz and Wanda who were at “Momo’s” side during the “slumber parties” the last hours of her life. Also, a special thank you to her personal caregivers, Vita Garcia and Dora Rhodes.

Visitation will begin Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Forest Park Lawndale at 5:00 pm, with a Rosary recited at 7pm. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, March 17, 2011 at 11:00am in the Main Chapel of Forest Park Lawndale with interment to follow.
