Aaron Lee Ward, age 87, gained his angel wings on March 27, 2021. He was a resident of the Mont Belvieu Rehabilitation and Healthcare. His home was in Mathis, Tx at Lake Corpus Christi, where he loved to fish, spend time in his garden, and ride his tractor. Aaron never met a stranger. His heart was bigger than Texas. He lived his life to serve family, friends, neighbors or anyone in need and to serve God. After his service in the US Army, where he was a helicopter crew chief, Aaron attended Del Mar College where he received his technical degree in painting.
Aaron was a lifelong entrepreneur in the construction industry which took him to many cities during his carrier. However, home was always South Texas and the Corpus Christi area.
Aaron is preceded in death by his father Charlie R. Ward Sr., his mother, Gladys Irene Ward, his brother Henry Ward and sister Catherine Ward, a stillborn child. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Reba June (Hardy) Ward and daughter Marla (Ward) Stites, wife of Marcus Stites. His brothers Charlie R. Ward Jr., Paul Ward (wife Erma), Alden Ward (wife Judy) of Nashville, TN, James Ward, of Palmview, Tx, and sister Irene Nedbalek (husband Vernon) of Sinton, Tx. He has three grand children, Michael David Stites of Dallas Tx, Sarah Michelle (Stites) Schichtel, (Ryan Schichtel) of Mont Belvieu, Tx and Joshua Morgan Vincent Stites of Haslet, Tx. and three great grandchildren, Kailey Mae Stites of Boca Raton, Fl., Holley Rae Schichtel and Reese McKenna Schichtel of Mont Belvieu, Tx. who adored their PawPaw. Numerous nieces, nephews and loved ones.
You are invited to join in a Celebration of his life at Brookside Funeral Home-Cypress located at 9149 Hwy 6 N. Houston, Tx 77095. Visitation will begin Monday April 12, 2021 at 12:00pm with services beginning at 1:00.
Aaron’s celebration of life with continue at 8102 Oxbow Manor Ln. Cypress, Tx. 77433 with food and fellowship provided by Russel and Trish Smith and Cellie and Stan O’Neal.
