Reginald Jones (or as he often referred to himself as "Lil Reg from Zion City") was born on August 25, 1952 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was the seventh child of the late Edward Herbert Jones Sr., and Sarah Robertson Jones.
Reginald was baptized as a young teen-ager at Home Mission Baptist Church in New Orleans, LA by the Reverend Alexander Lewis. He also attended Booker T. Washington High School.
Young Reggie was always a hard worker. He worked many diverse jobs: Construction, Restaurant worker (where he learned to cook), Ship Maintenance, Nolan Marshall Photography, Sears and Barataria Station Apartments. Reggie's love of God and hard work continued with his dedication to his home church-St. Luke Baptist Church of Dularge Louisiana.
On Saturday June 15, 2024, Reginald peacefully transitioned to his heavenly home. He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving and devoted wife of 22 years, Hattie Mae Jones, one daughter, Shanda Wolfe (William), one grandson, Caleb Wolfe, four sisters, Mary Ann Jones Francois, Dianne Jones Marshall, Berlinda Jones Thornton (Byron), and Charlotte Jones Gibson, two brothers, Jessie W. Jones (Pat) and Alvin Joseph Jones (Marsha), three sister-in-laws, JoAnn Harding, Patricia Harding and Deborah Jones, his godchild, Nolan Marshall III., his oldest and closest friends, Norman Taylor, Margie Burfict Jones, a family member and numerous nephews and nieces.
Reginald was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Herbert Jones, Sr., and Sarah Robertson Jones, his sister, Mary Alma Jones Pierre, his brothers, Edward H. Jones Jr. and Alcee "Tony" Jones Sr., godmother, Elnora "Dora" Moise.
Reginald enjoyed cooking, boiling seafood, watching Sci-Fi movies and listening to his music (especially Maze). He was always saying or doing something to make you laugh. Lil Reg, until we meet again, take your rest and know that you will be truly missed.
