Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024 from 9:00 AM until funeral time at 11: 00 AM funeral services will be held at Triumph Baptist Church, 6313 Bayou Black Dr, Gibson, LA 70356. Burial will follow in Morristown Cemetery in Raceland, Louisiana.
Louis was a resident of Raceland, Louisiana. He retired from a fulfilling career as a painter at John Deere, where his dedication and hard work left a lasting impact.
Louis was baptized at an early age by Rev. Jackson in Raceland, Louisiana. At the time of death, he was a devoted member of Triumph Baptist Church, where he found great solace and community. His faith was an integral part of his life, and he cherished the fellowship he found there.
He was a loving father, son, and brother, survived by his mother, Ethel Mae Major; his son, Louis Major III; daughters, Jermika M. Major, Lakeisha A. Major, and Diesha D. Dorsey; children’s mother, Diana M. Major; his brother, Ricky Major (Kathy); and sisters, Cora Triggs (Charles) and Kathy Major, 13 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, god-children, and a host of nieces, nephews, and relatives. Louis was preceded in death by his father, Louis Major Sr., and sisters, Shirley Major and Gaynell Major, son Andrew Major, and nephew Charles Triggs Jr.
Louis enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends and was always ready to share his love for music. His presence brought joy and laughter to those around him, making every moment memorable.
Louis's life and legacy will be remembered fondly by all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed.
