Jessie Mae Stewart, 78, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Houma, died Friday, November 14, 2014 at 11:22 p.m. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until funeral time at the church. The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 2424 Highway 57, Houma, LA 70363. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. She is survived by: two sons, Allen J. Stewart and Terry K. Stewart; three daughters, Debra (Geroid) Nixon, Wanda Stewart and Deanna Stewart; one sister, Gloria Blanchard; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Allen Stewart, Jr.; one son, Kevin W. Stewart; her parents, Willis, Jr. and Sarah Wheaton-Durkins; and one sister, Leontine Vernon.
