Irene Ann Washington Mouton, 63, a resident of Patterson, LA and native of St. Martin Parish, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Sunday, September 6, 2020 at 8:53 PM at Ochsner Medical Center in Jefferson, LA.
A public walk through viewing will be conducted from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, September 18, 2020 at Jones Funeral Home 715 Sixth Street Morgan City, LA. (All visitors are asked to adhere to the CDC/local regulations by wearing masks and practicing social distancing with the recommendation of signing the registry book, viewing and exiting). A public walk through viewing will resume on Saturday morning from 8:00 am until 10:00 am on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Jones Funeral Home 715 Sixth Street Morgan City, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 P. M. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church with seating based upon Phase 3 regulations of 75% capacity. The parish hall will be available for overflow with limited seating and live viewing of the mass service. Mass Services will be accessible by viewing the Jones Funeral Home, Inc. at 1:00 P. M. on Saturday, September 19, 2020. Irene will be entombed in the St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum Section in Patterson.
Irene will be remembered as a selfless woman who had a beautiful smile and quiet spirit. She remained graceful until God called her home. Embracing the memories of Irene’s beautiful life are her children, Tashona Mouton and Clarence W. Mouton and wife, Heidi; eight grandchildren, Braden Mouton, Landon Landry, Micah Landry, Tate Mouton, Myles Mouton, Brie Landry, Niya Landry, and Lakyn Mouton; her aunt, Mazel Sam; her siblings, Barbara Savoy and husband, Mac Arthur, Whitney Washington, Jr. and wife, Margaret, Diana St. Julien, Calvin Washington and wife Rena, Carolyn Washington, Lenore Washington Barnett, David Washington and wife, Shelia, Ricky Washington and wife, Linda and Richard Washington and wife, Betsy; her god-children, Sherriate Washington, Brian Washington, Tamara Washington and Darius Washington and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and numerous other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Whitney Washington, Sr. and Mary Elder Broussard Washington, Irene was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, John St. Julien; her former father & mother-in-law, Clarence Mouton, Sr. and Mary Lucille Mouton and two former sisters-in-law, Nita Mae Mouton and Katherine Marie (Mouton) Singleton.
