Barbara Jean Brown

The Family will receive guests for a time of visitation on Saturday, November 2, 2024, from 9 AM until time of service at First Baptist Church, 1987 Hwy 311, Schriever, LA 70395. Celebration of Life will follow the visitation at 11 AM. The family will gather for a private interment.

Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband, Andrew Brown; 4 children: Angela (Kerry) Brown, Michael (DeNeil) Brown, Keith (Ashley) Brown, and Sherita (Carlos Butler) Brown; 9 grandchildren: Devon Brown, Kori Brown, Dylan Carter, Dominique Brown, Teranasia (Tera) Gray, Elysia Brown, Kindal Brown, Stephen “Tre” Reed III; 2 great grandchildren: Ma’khy Brown, Khalil Neville; 4 brothers: Michael (Pat), Stanley (Connie), David (Christine) and Robert (Roxanne) Reed; 2 sisters: Janet (Cleveland) Alcorn, Patricia Williams; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Barbara was a warrior at heart and demonstrated resilience in the face of many challenges. Her passion and determination for family and friends were a consistent theme of her life. She intentionally created impactful memories with her children and grandchildren. They were truly her motivation.

She was preceded in death by her son: Joey Brown; her parents, James and Ethel Reed and Isaac Jones; 1 brother: Calvin Reed; 1 sister: Lynell “Linda” Reed.
