A memorial service will be held at 2pm on January 29th at the Christ Lutheran Church, HSV.
Tom was born February 2nd, 1939 in Detroit, MI to Hazel and Francis Elliott. At age 7 the family moved to Pittsburg, KS. He met Rebecca Keele while attending Pittsburg State University; they wed in 1962 and remained happily married for the next 56 years.
Tom began his career as an educator. While his scientific background carried him into a long career in software development, he never lost his passion for teaching. With two sons, Tom’s teaching transitioned into coaching. He enjoyed many seasons coaching his son’s teams. His focus on sportsmanship and fundamentals provided life lessons to many.
After retiring to Arkansas in 2000, Tom became an active member of the Hot Springs Village community. He enjoyed working on various POA projects and committees, as well as, being a proud member of the HSV Rotary Club.
Tom was preceded in death by his mother and father; his brothers Bill and Jim; and sister Shirley. He is survived by his wife Rebecca; sons Michael and Matthew (Melanie); and a wonderful extended family of nieces and nephews. He was loved and will be missed by many.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to Christ Lutheran Church for use in the renovation of its columbarium.
