Ruth Elizabeth Catlett, 90, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2024. She was born to the late James Wacaster and Henrietta Tubberville Wacaster on July 22, 1933 in Hot Springs, AR.
Ruth attended and graduated from Cutter Morning Star School. She met and married the love of her life Talmadge Catlett and went on to have children together. She was the owner at Catlett's TV and Five Star Picture Tube Co. and later worked as a clerk at the Salvation Army where she retired in 2016.
Ruth enjoyed many things throughout her life. She had a love for art. She enjoyed arts and crafts in many forms. She used her abilities to decorate cakes for 25 years! She enjoyed playing the piano for the Grace Church of Nazarene and listening to gospel music any time she was able to. She loved the color pink eating chocolates, and talking on the phone. Above all she loved the Lord, her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. They were her pride and joys.
Ruth was a wonderful woman who will be missed dearly.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister Linda Wacaster; and sons Stevie Leon Catlett and Rodney Catlett Sr. “Rod”.
She is survived by her daughter Tammy Webb (John); daughter in law Nell Ann Garibay Catlett; grandchildren Amanda Rash Lee, Ashley Rash Blockburger (Jacob), Chad Catlett (Erica); Rodney Catlett Jr. (Rose), and Kimberly Catlett; Great Grandchildren Taylor Elizabeth Lee, Easton Wright, Mallen Blockburger, Jaden Blockburger, and Cameron Catlett; siblings Louise Oliver (late husband Harold), James Wacaster (Earlene), Patsy McKnight (late husband Ed), Shirley Smitherman (Tom), and Ralph Wacaster (Doris); and her beloved dog Rosie.
A special thank you to Tiffany Carpenter, Jessica Diffie, and Chaplin John Mark Moore with Arkansas Hospice for taking very good care of Ruth during her final days.
