Mary Ann was born on September 21, 1945, to Betty Faw Tate and Roland Dobbs in Clarksville, Arkansas. Mary Ann was the oldest of 8 children—Ricky, Danny, Roberta, Jimmy, Denise, Wayne and David. Being in a military family, she grew up on military bases throughout Europe, but she always came back to Arkansas which she proudly called home.
Throughout her life, Mary Ann was known for her strong work ethic and her optimistic outlook on life. She treated everyone with kindness and respect. Mary worked for over 30 years at the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and retired in 2002.
Mary Ann was married to Dominic Edward Centofante for 14 years and had two sons, Mark and Dominic Centofante. She was blessed with three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Mary Ann remarried in 1981 to Bill Carlin Tucker, and they remained happily married until her passing. They did not have any children together, but she did have a stepson, Steve Tucker. Mary Ann and Bill were married for 43 beautiful years.
Mary Ann loved to play golf. She also had a profound love for cleaning, caring for her cats and making others feel comfortable. She relished being outdoors in any environment. She enjoyed houseboats, power walking, cooking, and flipping houses with Bill. Mary and Bill enjoyed traveling together, going on cruises and vacations together throughout the years. Mary Ann made friends easily because she always brought her unique sense of humor, optimism, kindness, and generosity wherever she went.
Mary Ann will be deeply missed but never forgotten by her family, friends, and colleagues who were touched by her bubbly personality and her unwavering love for her family.
May her soul rest in peace and live forever in our hearts and memories.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, April 13th, 2024, from 1pm to 3pm to honor and cheerfully remember Mary Ann’s life.
