Jerry Clem, born March 2, 1944, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Hot Springs on October 5, 2024, at the age of 80. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Jerry will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
Raised in Altheimer, Arkansas, Jerry was the second of five children, graduating from Altheimer High School and the University of Arkansas Fayetteville, where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Judy Clem, and their two sons, Drew Clem and his wife Jamie of Benton, Arkansas, and Jonathan Clem and his wife Velvet of Bossier City, Louisiana. He was a proud grandfather to Anna, Emily, Abbey, and Jacqueline Clem, and a cherished great-grandfather to Presleigh and Crews Wooten. Jerry also had several nieces and nephews.
Jerry is also survived by his siblings: sister Donna Rector (Kenny) of Hot Springs, Barbara Colclasure (Ray) of Pine Bluff, Vicky Stewart (Larry) of Hot Springs, and brother Ronnie Clem (Susan) of Mayflower, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents Odell and Ruth Clem of Altheimer, AR. His family was always a central part of his life, and he cherished the time spent with them.
A committed member of First United Methodist Church in Hot Springs, Jerry lived his faith through kindness and generosity. He was an avid hunter, enjoying his time at Vernon's Hunting Club in Cornerstone and Tyronza Hunting Club in Tichnor. Jerry had a passion for landscaping, taking great pride in his yard on Lake Hamilton, where he loved to spend time outdoors. He was also an avid Arkansas Razorback fan.
Road trips with Judy were a highlight of Jerry's life, with recent adventures to Montana and North Dakota alongside their loyal dog, Mack.
Professionally, Jerry dedicated 37 years to Central Moloney in Pine Bluff, starting as a mechanical engineer and eventually becoming a Regional Sales Manager. His commitment and expertise earned him the respect of colleagues and clients alike. Additionally, he served honorably in the Army National Guard for two years.
Jerry's warm spirit, love for family, and zest for life will be remembered by all. A celebration of his life will take place Thursday, October 10th, 11a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 1100 Central Avenue, Hot Springs, AR. Reception immediately following the service.
