On the afternoon of Tuesday, September 5th, 2023, Dorothy Ann Daniel was called to be with the Lord in her heavenly home, after 82 years of life. She peacefully passed surrounded by her family at Belvedere Nursing & Rehab. She was born in the small town of Old Blakeley, AR, on August 9, 1941. Dorothy was the eldest child of Ruey and Virginia (Spurlin) Muse.
She was a member of First Christian Church in Hot Springs, AR, where she enjoyed fellowship with her church family. Dorothy enjoyed a life of traveling, dancing and music, painting and arts, and spending time with her husband, Howard Daniel, and pets. She loved her church gatherings and family and enjoyed live services and those on broadcast tv. Dorothy lived her life with kindness, compassion, and a fountain of generosity for people and animals.
Dorothy spent the last 9 months in Belvedere Nursing & Rehab under the kind care of the comforting nurses and staff, and she made many new friends during her stay.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Ruey and Virginia (Spurlin) Muse; and her younger sister, Vanessa Steves; and her beloved poodle Jack Daniel.
Dorothy is survived by her husband of 64 years, Howard Daniel of Hot Springs, AR, younger brother, Don Muse and sister-in-law, Lynn Muse of Bentonville, AR; and brother-in-law Michael Steves of Benton, AR; and lastly, her cats Sandy, Butter, and Smokey Bear, whom she talked to and doted over every day.
She was a cherished wife, friend, sister, and Christian who lived each day to the Glory of God and will forever be missed.
Dorothy will be cremated at Gross Funeral Home in Hot Springs, AR. There will be no visitation and service will be a private gathering for immediate family. In lieu of flowers, express your love for those around you, or submit a tribute donation to the Humane Society of Garland County in memory of Dorothy Ann Daniel.
