Unfortunately, Linda succumbed to complications from sepsis on December 2, 2024. She was surrounded by her soulmate, Robert, and daughters.
Linda Albert was born on December 20th, 1965, in Greensboro, North Carolina to the late Katherine Clarendon Albert. The family eventually settled in Fayetteville, where Linda attended Sherwood Park Elementary School and Douglas Byrd High School. In high school, Linda was a thespian and enjoyed working on plays as well as participating on the forensics team.
After graduation she attended Pembroke State University, as it was called at that time, and joined Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority. Despite earning her degree in Communications, her biggest collegiate accomplishment was finding her soulmate, Robert Frederick Hindman.
Linda and Robert married in June of 1986 and after welcoming two daughters, returned to Fayetteville to be closer to family.
Linda would go on to work as a teacher’s assistant at Sherwood Park where her children attended school. Even after they moved to upper grades, she’d discovered a passion for helping children and turned that passion into a career by moving on to work for Cumberland County Partnership for Young Children. In this role she would hold sessions with parents of children under 4 on how to get their child ready for school, including the importance of reading to them.
A new opportunity to work with the Orange County Partnership for Young Children led Linda and Fred to move once more and settle in Cary, North Carolina, where they have spent the last 18 years. While working in Orange County, Linda continued to focus on programs like More at 4 and being a strong advocate for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. She also went on to further her education, working to earn a Masters of Public Administration from North Carolina Central University.
She is survived and sorely missed by her husband; Robert Hindman, her daughters; Brooklyn Caulk (Glenn Caulk, Jr.) and Kourtney Hindman, her grandchildren; Glenn Caulk III and Robert Caulk, her uncle; John Clarendon, her sister; Karen Ballard, and soulsisters; Rhea Lynch (Tim Lynch) and Dorothy Fiesel (Ed Fiesel).
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her memory to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library: https://donate.imaginationlibrary.com/
