Mr. Ferguson served his country for 20 years in the U.S. Army. He received numerous medals and ribbons for his service, including the Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal with the Bronze Star, Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Commendation Medal, Expert Infantry Badge, Parachutist Badge, and Good Conduct Medal.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Herschel Ferguson and Belzora Holden Ferguson.
Left to cherish his memories are wife, Terri Lee Ferguson; daughter, Johnalee Lauren Ferguson-Waldon and husband Jamal; sister, Patricia Sue Ferguson; brothers, Terry Paul Ferguson and Troy S. Green; nieces, Brittany McManus, Jennifer K. Parker, Megan L. Parker, and Amber Marie Ferguson; and nephew, Jonathan McManus.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Reeves Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2014 in Reeves Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Reinhardt officiating.
Following the service, he will be laid to rest in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. with the rendering of full military honors.
