Born in Bradford, Pennsylvania on August 11, 1945 to Martha Elizabeth Stroup (nee Chatley) and Lawrence Everille Stroup, she was the youngest of four children. Diana was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She loved and cherished her family.
Diana was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She held various positions, but her favorite position was in the nursery. She loved working with children, and loved them like her own. She loved God, her church, and the Gospel. She followed Jesus's example, and was always ready and willing to help others in need. She was very creative, and could make amazing meals from what looked like next to nothing. She enjoyed baking, reading, crafts, and singing. She will be dearly missed by all.
She is preceded in death by her parents,as well as her brothers, Douglas Everille Stroup and his wife, Iris Stroup (nee Ocasio), and Doyle Stroup and his wife Rita Stroup (nee Rupert); and her sister, Delores Irene Olmstead (nee Stroup) and her husband, Floyd Junior Olmstead.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, David M. Watkins; her children, David K. Watkins, Eileen S. Watkins, and Martha J. Watkins. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
A visitation for Diana will be held Wednesday, July 31, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 3308 N Main St, Hope Mills, North Carolina 28348. A funeral service will occur Thursday, August 1, 2024 at 12:30 PM at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 5810 Rockfish Road, Hope Mills, North Carolina 28348.
