Wanda "Faye" Black

Wanda “Faye” Black, 74, of Lecanto, FL, passed away on Wed., Aug. 18, 2021 at Bayfront Health Seven Rivers. A native of Bartow, FL, she was born Feb. 20, 1947 to Kenneth and Alma (Provett) Blount, one of five children. Faye, as she was known to everyone, moved to Citrus County 45 years ago from Arcadia, FL and was a retired secretary for Damron’s/LKQ Auto Parts, a position she held for over 20 years. Faye was a faithful and devoted longtime member of Gulf To Lake Baptist Church in Crystal River, and was present at their very first worship service on Jan. 22, 1995. She was very active in the church’s activities and among many, served in the CARE Ministry visiting elderly citizens in nursing homes and hospitals; she was a weekly greeter at worship services; on behalf of the Pastor, Faye would call all members and wish them “Happy Birthday” and was also enjoyed her involvement with Children’s Ministry. Faye was also active in the FLO Gulf To Lake Women’s Group and Christian Women’s Organization, and always was the "spokesperson” for her table at these events. Faye loved going to the beach and always spending time with her family and friends. As two of her grandsons, Dalton and Colton Bertine, have attended Seven Rivers Christian School in Lecanto, the school’s well being was also very dear to her. In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 31 years, Kenneth Black, on April 20, 2007, and one brother. She is survived by her two children: Lisa Bertine (husband Drew), Lecanto, FL and Mike Roberts, Dunnellon, FL; grandsons Dalton Bertine, Atlanta, GA and Colton Bertine, Lecanto, FL; granddaughters Michelle Largo, Crystal River, FL and Kori Harman (husband Gordon), Temecula, CA; great grandchildren Bradley, Derrick, Monell and Kinsley; two brothers and one sister. Friends will be received on Sat., Aug. 28, 2021 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Gulf To Lake Baptist Church, 1454 N. Gulf Ave., Crystal River, Florida, where a funeral service will take place at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Lloyd Bertine officiating. Entombment will follow at Fountains Memorial Park, 5635 W.
