Robert Vernon “Bob” Schwebes, 87, of Homosassa, FL, passed away on Mon., Oct. 25, 2021 at Bayfront Health Seven Rivers in Crystal River, FL. A native of Coram, NY, he was born Aug. 17, 1934 to Herman Robert and Oriole Neva (Herriman) Schwebes, one of four children. Bob, as he was known to many, was a retired pipefitter after 28 years and was still a member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 630, West Palm Beach, FL. He moved to Homosassa over 39 years ago from Fort Myers, FL and was a faithful and devoted member of First United Methodist Church of Homosassa, where he served his church in many ways, including as an usher. Mr. Schwebes loved gardening and restoring antique and classic cars and was a member of the Citrus County Cruisers. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a son, Mark Schwebes; grandchildren Robert Vernon Schwebes and Matthew Dunbar; and his three siblings Jacqueline, Herman and Connie. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Helen Jessica Schwebes (whom he married on Aug. 27, 1955) of Homosassa; his children: Rev. Patricia Ann Dunbar (Kim), Woodstock, GA; Robert “Bobby” Schwebes (Marjorie), Homosassa, FL, Katherine Koschara (Greg), Mount Morris, NY, and Cynthia “Candy” McFarland (Robert), Fernandina Beach, FL; grandchildren Stephanie Pounders (Nick), Zachary Dunbar (Joanne), LeeAnn Morris (Jonathan), Greg Koschara, Jr., Deb Miskell (Doug), and William Koschara, and Lucas McFarland: great grandchildren London, Brooklyn, Mysti-Rose, Desmond, Kitty, Shaian, Mercedes, Alexis, Doug, Billy, and Kendall; and one great-great-granddaughter, Avyana. Friends will be received at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, FL on Tues., Nov. 2, 2021 from 11:30 AM until 1:00 P.M., where a funeral service of remembrance will take place at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Jonathan Beard officiating. Interment will follow at Fountains Memorial Park, Homosassa. A Celebration Of Life will also take place at First United Methodist Church in Homosassa on Mon., Nov. 8, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Patti Aupperlee officiating.
