Clyde Charles Cosgrove, 84, of Crystal River, FL, passed away on Fri., June 3, 2022 at his home. A native of Holly Hill, FL, he was born Oct. 7, 1937 to John William and Eva Berena (Deuschle) Cosgrove. Clyde served his country honorably and proudly in the United States Navy from 1954 to 1958, and served as an airman sailor aboard the USS Wasp IX (CV-18). In 1978, Clyde moved to Citrus County from Ft. Lauderdale and soon established Clyde Cosgrove Builders, one of numerous businesses that he would establish and run over many years. Mr. Cosgrove was an avid outdoorsman and loved to fish. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. Clyde knew how to have fun and anyone who knew him would agree that he was a kind, big-hearted person. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers William John and Leo Jerome and sisters Marie, Ginger and Roberta. Clyde is survived by his loving wife Dianne Watson Cosgrove; three sons: Christopher Cosgrove (Gina Ciampi), Chadwick Cosgrove (Brandy Howard) and Richard Cosgrove; two daughters: Laura Stoddart (Bill) and Robin “Roberta” Cosgrove; seven grandchildren; brother Paul Cosgrove and sister Berena Cosgrove; three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will take place on Sat., June 18, 2022 at 10:30 AM from Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, FL. Clyde's family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. Entombment with military honors will follow at 11:30 AM at Fountains Memorial Park, Homosassa, FL. with the United States Navy and the Citrus County All Veterans Honor Guard rendering honors.
