Robert L. "Bob" Boutwell

Bob was born on March 2, 1932 to the late Robert Leon Boutwell and Mae Dell Doss Boutwell. He graduated from Phillips High School and attened Auburn University and served in the United States Air Force.

Bob and his wife Joanne had an accounting firm in Homewood for more that 40 years. He was a member of Shades Crest Baptist Church. He was a member of AA for more than 50 years where he was committed to serving others, helping people as they had helped him. Bob also had a passion for his family, bluegrass music and airplanes.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Joanne Wald Boutwell. He is survived by his children: Dell McLendon (George) and Lisa Bonds (Frank); his grandchildren: Emily Sanford (Brandon), Anna McLendon, Frank Bonds, III (Aly) and Katie Bonds (Jason Tuten) and Maggie Bonds; and his great grandchildren: Lorelei, Webb, Wynn, Jaden, Zada and Maverick and by his half brother Donald Boutwell.

A visitation for Bob will be held Tuesday, April 25, 2023 beginning at 9:00 AM with the funeral service following at 10:00 AM, at Ridout's Valley Chapel,1800 Oxmoor Road, Homewood, AL 35209. A graveside service with military honors will follow at Alabama National Cemetery, 3133 Hwy 119, Montevallo, AL 35115

at 1:15 PM.
