Mary A. Wood, age 88 of Birmingham, passed away on October 10, 2023.
She was born to the late Curtis and Alice Lawson on August 22, 1935. Mary enjoyed working at both Belk’s and Parisian Department stores and was a member of Palisades Church of Christ.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ira Eugene Wood, her brothers: Olin Lawson, Oscar Jackson Lawson and Therman Lawson, her sisters: Ruby Manasco and Audrey Todd and by her niece Diane Wells. She is survived by her son Christopher Wood her granddaughter Arabella Wood and niece Jane King. The family wishes to express its sincerest gratitude to Gail Williams and Malinda Alexander for the loving and wonderful care they gave to Mary in the months leading up to her passing.
Graveside services will be on Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery.
