Marianne Taylor, age 93, of Birmingham died on October 4, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Taylor; parents, Leonhard and Barbara Leis Hofmann and sisters, Babette and Rosie. Survivors include daughters, Hannelore McKenzie (Frank) and Eileen Moore; grandchildren Patricia, Aimie Robinson (MIke), Cindi, Hannnelore Melville along with 10 great grandchildren and 8great-great grandchildren. After an extraordinary life that began in Nuremburg, Germany and ended in Alabama, all she wanted was to be remembered for having done the best she could. "Granny, you will always be the apple of our eyes." Graveside services will be held on October 9, 2012 at 10 am in Elmwood Cemetery. Msgr. Martin Muller will officiate.
