Lil lived a full and comprehensive life. She was a very astute bridge player, enjoyed dancing, big band music, puzzles, words games, and sunsets at the beach. But most of all, she cherished her family and close friends. She was a member of United Methodist Women, The Jamestowne Society, Les Me’res (mother’s club), The 20th Century Club,
and a devoted member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Homewood, AL.
She was preceded by her husband William Reed (Buddy) Rogers Jr. and is survived by her daughter Margaret Shaw Rogers, her son & daughter-in-law William Reed Rogers III and Janet Waddy Rogers, and her grandson and granddaughter-in-law William Reed Rogers IV and Lillian Hall Rogers. While we mourn her earthly exit, we rejoice in the many years of love and devotion she gave us.
Services will be held Saturday September 16 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Homewood. Visitation will be at 1:00pm, service at 2:00pm, followed by the graveside service at Elmwood Cemetery.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Trinity United Methodist Church and the Bell Center for Early Intervention in Homewood AL.
