Katherine A. Sanders

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Herbert G. Sanders, and her parents, Katherine Rosetta Rogers and Carl W. Rogers. She is survived by her sons, Thomas W. Sanders (Kathy) and Terrence S. Sanders (Marianne), and her brother, Ronald W. Rogers (Terri).

She was affectionally known as Kit Kit to her grandchildren, Joshua R. Sanders (Heather), Carl C. Sanders (Dadriana), Margaret Ann Sanders and Austin Thomas Sanders; and her great grandchildren, Jackson, Skylar, Hayes, and Addison.

Kitty was born in Bessemer, Alabama on May 28, 1937. She graduated from Hueytown High School, class of 1954. Kitty was in the real estate industry almost 50 years as a sales associate, as well as an owner/manager of Prudential South of Town Realty. She was a natural salesperson and negotiator. She loved sports, especially watching her sons and later her grandchildren compete. One of her favorite times in life was entertaining and cooking for her family or friends. The company Christmas party each year was always a special event.

Kitty was a member of Dawson Memorial Baptist Church. She loved the Lord. Her life was marked by her love for others, her encouragement to others, and her giving spirit. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Dawson Memorial Baptist Church on Tuesday, May 14th at 11:30. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 10:00 prior to the service.
