Judy Awbrey Childress, age 75, of Hoover passed away on October 1, 2021. She is survived by her husband Rick, sons, Awbrey and Aaron (Emily, sister Janie Shelnutt (Sam), and her precious grandchildren, Samantha Erin Childress and Jackson O'Neil Childress along with many nieces and nephews. She was for many years a high school guidance counselor. Judy served many roles in the Alabama Counseling Association including ALCA President, Newsletter editor, ALSCA President, and Annual Conference Chair to name a few. After retirement she did voluntary work with several charitable organizations. Judy's goal in life was to help others, and she was very successful in her goal. A private family memorial will be held next week.
