Deputy Chief June Webb, retired City of Birmingham passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2022. Deputy Chief Webb was born October 14, 1938. June is remembered as a pioneer for women's rights and a fierce advocate for her friends and family. June never chose to show her love through words, only actions (and so much food), although she never missed an opportunity to say, "I love you." That same voice which commanded respect from an entire precinct of male police officers, was used to teach others to be kind above all else.
June lived a beautiful life as a friend to everyone she encountered and was a devout follower of the Lord.
She now takes her heavenly watch over her brother Bob and three sisters: Linda, Idell, and Adell, as well as her stepchildren Cindy and Chris, numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and her Rigbydog. She is reunited in death with her parents: Joel Franklin Armstrong and Idell Bullock Armstrong, and brothers J.F. and Aubrey.
A visitation for Deputy Chief Webb will be held Wednesday, September 7, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Ridout's Valley Chapel, 1800 Oxmoor Road, Homewood, AL 35209. A funeral service will occur Thursday, September 8, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Cahaba Heights Baptist Church, 3800 Crosshaven Drive, Vestavia Hills, AL 35243. Burial will immediately follow the service in the adjoining cemetery.
