Betty Hamner Cole

Betty Hamner Cole, age 81 of Homewood passed away on September 6, 2014. She was born in Birmingham on November 1, 1932. Betty graduated from Phillips High School, Judson College and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. She was married to Roger W. Cole on November 28, 1958. Betty and Roger served as Southern Baptist international missionaries in Brazil and Mexico. She also served with Women's Missionary Union and at Green Street Baptist Church in High Point , NC. She was a member of Dawson Baptist Church and an integral member of the Hispanic ministry. She was survived by her husband Roger, her children, David, Virginia, Liz and Lawrence, and her grandchildren Clint, Sarah, Raymond, Olivia, EmmaLee, Matthew, Paige, Brooke and Issac. She is survived by her sister Ruth Yarbrough and niece Beth. Viewing will be at September 8 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Ridout's Valley Chapel in Homewood. Service will be held at Dawson Memorial Baptist Church on September 9 at 10:00 am.
