Jay Michael Johnson

Jay was born on February 19, 1981 in Columbia, MO the son of James Johnson and Brenda Holtsclaw. He was united in marriage in 2007 in Columbia, MO to Virgie Martin. Jay was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating. He also loved all sports, especially playing softball and cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs. He adored his family and will be truly missed by them.

Survivors include: his wife, Virgie Martin of the home; one son, Tray Martin of Columbia, MO; two daughters, Tamara Tullous of Moberly, MO and Trisha Johnson of Holts Summit, MO; his mother, Brenda Boyd of Sturgeon, MO; his father, James “Rick” Johnson of Warsaw, MO; four brothers, Alex Boyd of Columbia, MO, Nick Boyd (Katlan) of Sturgeon, MO, Eric Boyd of Tennessee and Tyler Johnson of Kansas City; four sisters, Amber Boyd of Springfield, MO, Allison Johnson of Colorado, Courtney Hanger of Kansas City and Lindsey Fulton of Kansas City; six grandchildren, Michael, Kinleigh, Riley, Tray Jr, Khloe and Nova and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by one sister, Bethany Eubanks.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023 from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Debo Funeral Home in Holts Summit, MO. Funeral service will follow at 6:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating.
