Ruth Rennie was born as Ruth Ryan in the Bronx, NY on September 18, 1926 to Monserrat immigrants Rose and Joseph Ryan. The eldest child of four, Ruth graduated from High School and went on to work in a factory for several years while also becoming a homemaker and mother to four children. Several years later she met the man would become the love of her life and husband of 53 years, Reuben Rennie. Within this union Ruth conceived another child. On her journey for growth within her career Ruth volunteered in the hospital and later studied and graduated from BMCC (Borough of Manhattan Community College) and became a nurse. After working in several units Ruth retired after 35 years of service as Head Nurse in the Department of ENT at Bellevue Hospital. Once retired and relocating to Miami, Ruth worked part-time at Sunrise Rehabilitation Center and later offered her services as a volunteer teaching adults to read at Unity Church.
Anyone that truly knew her knows that she lived a wonderful life constantly traveling, shopping, enjoying game nights with her girlfriends, day trips to Atlantic City, partying with her husband, indulging in her favorite TV shows and DVDs and enjoying time with her family whenever possible. Though she was known for being an extremely straight forward individual, never holding back on how she felt about anything, she was also very kind hearted, always willing to offer advice, a hand or whatever else she could to assist those in need. It is because of all of these things that she was loved, respected and will be missed so very much.
