Panormitis M. Galouzis was born in Symi, Greece to Droso & Irene Galouzis on September 17, 1939 on a boat in front of the island of Symi. His mother was traveling from Rhodes to Kalymnos. Unfortunately, she did not make in time to give birth in Kalymnos his hometown. Therefore, this is the reason he was given the name Panormitis in honor of the saint of the island. Holy Monastery of the Taxiarch Panormitis. My father had to stay in the island for 3 months before being allowed to depart back to Kalymnos. My father had to drop out of elementary at a very young age to help support his 3 sisters. He lost his mother at a very young age while my father was drafted in the Greek army. He married Themelina Galouzis on January 1965 in Kalymnos, Greece. My father was a cook for the merchant marine. He left Kalymnos in 1967 after the birth of his first born son Droso to the Bahamas. My mother came to the Bahamas after my father settled. They lived in the Bahamas for a year & returned back to Kalymnos to welcome their second son Stathis (Steve). In 1972 they departed to New York & then came to Atlanta to make their forever home. In 1974 they welcomed a third their third child, Evdokia (Eva). My father was in the hospitality industry all his life. His passion was to cook & serve delicious Greek food. Panormitis was a very hard worker & very loyal family man. He was a very dedicated & loving husband, father, uncle, brother, friend to his family & friends.

Galouzis is survived by his wife Themelina Galouzis, son Droso Galouzis(Cindy) grandson, Michael, son Steve Galouzis, grandkids Melina & Nicholas Galouzis, daughter Evdokia Galouzis (Dimitrios) grandkids Panagioti, Dimitiros & Melina Gazis, Kaliope Galouzis, sister Maria Skylla, nieces & nephews Irene Pilatou (Yianni), Geeliki Tezari (Oikoinomouu, Eirni, Nikoleta, Panteli Skyla. Panteli & Nikolitska Gkynatsis, Sevasti Kamaraki, Thore & Sevasti Glkynatsis, Kalipi & Panorminits Kastelorizo, Geroge & Eleni Glynatsis, Mixali & Maria.
A visitation at church for Panormitis will be held Tuesday, December 10, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, located at 820 NE 14th Ave, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33304.
A church service will occur Tuesday, December 10, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, located at 820 NE 14th Ave, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33304.
The burial will occur Tuesday, December 10, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Fred Hunter's Hollywood Memorial Gardens North., 3001 N 72nd Ave, Hollywood, FL 33024.
