Margaret Robinson-Crenshaw, 74, a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and outstanding public servant, departed this earth
peacefully on Wednesday, May 15, 2024.
Born July 14, 1949 in Allenhurst, GA, Margaret was one of eight children born to the late Essie Mae and Amos Robinson. She graduated from Miami Northwestern Senior High School in 1967 and went on to have a distinguished 35-year career with the Miami-Dade County Department of Human Services, being named “Employee of the Year” in 1988. The Miami Times praised her as “the glue that holds the organization together.”
At 22, Margaret married the love of her life, Harrison Crenshaw. Though widowed nearly three years later in 1974, they lived a full life together in that short time. The couple met while Margaret was browsing sewing patterns at a local fabric store, where Harrison was on duty serving the community. They honeymooned in the Bahamas and traveled around the world together.
Margaret enjoyed making garments for herself and her family in her sewing room. She was the family member others could rely on in
difficult times. Though just 5’4”, she had a big heart and was a strong woman who could survive any obstacle. In 2016, her beloved “hunny
bunny” Massai was born, bringing immense joy throughout her final 8 years. Exactly one month ago, on April 25th, she joined Massai and her
daughters on a train ride to Orlando to celebrate his 8th birthday. Today, May 25th, we all pause to reflect on our cherished relationship with Margaret. We thank God for sharing this precious jewel with us
and unselfishly obey the call to return her to Him. Honoring her memory are her daughters Willae F. Ivory, Marchae A. Jackson, and grandson
Massai A. Jackson. She is survived by siblings Barbara Robinson, Carl Michael Robinson, Kenneth Robinson, nieces and nephews, Roderick
K. Richardson, Hermana Richardson, Bridgette Y. Richardson, Tania Richardson, Zederick Richardson, Bennae Robinson, Marc T. Robinson,
Velinda C. Robinson, Leondra J. Felder, Dontaki Robinson, Whitney B. Thomas, Kenneth Robinson, Jr., Kennetha Robinson, and a host of
grandnieces, grandnephews, and forever friends.
Margaret joins her husband Harrison Crenshaw, parents Essie Mae and Amos Robinson, siblings Gloria Richardson, Linda Felder, and
Stanley Robinson in the spiritual realm. We commemorate our beloved matriarch who will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.
