Elsie was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti to Denise Pressoir and Adelphin Telson on June 12, 1945. She attended school at l’Institution Sainte Rose de Lima in Haiti. She came to the United States in 1968. She married Norbert Yves Volel in 1970 in New York City. She worked at DB Schenker for 50 years. She will be remembered as a gracious hostess, an excellent cook, and a dedicated friend with a zest for life and an unmatched sense of humor. She was a surrogate mom to countless children of extended family members and friends, who held her in great esteem and whom she showered with love and encouragement.
Elsie is preceded in death by her younger sister Eliane Telson and her younger brother Robert Telson.
Elsie is survived by her only child, her daughter, Sylvie Volel, and her only grandchild, her grandson Yves Thomas Kenner.
